Gary Fournier draws upon nearly 40 years of experience in his role as a managing director for JP Morgan. In this capacity, Gary Fournier manages more than $1 billion in assets for various high-profile individuals. He was recently named to Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list.

Mr. Fournier was ranked No. 21 among 138 wealth advisors in Southern California. In total, more than 2,000 advisors throughout the country were named to the Forbes list and subsequently ranked based on an algorithm of criteria such as industry experience, in-person interviews, community involvement, and client retention data. For instance, advisors must have at least seven years of experience to qualify for the list. They must also be nominated by their respective firms.

Follow-up research is conducted by SHOOK Research, which ranks advisors based on the likelihood of recommendation to a friend or family member. A large portion of the advisors are based in larger markets such as California and New York, but the research also uncovers successful advisors in smaller markets such as Oklahoma and South Carolina. More than 21,138 wealth advisors were nominated for the 2018 list, while 5,089 were invited to complete an online survey and 1,157 were interviewed face-to-face.

Gary Fournier is a managing director with JP Morgan in Los Angeles, where he is responsible for the management of more than $1 billion in assets. Beyond his professional activities, Gary Fournier supports a number of cancer research organizations, including the UCLA Jonsson Center Cancer Foundation, through the Debi & Gary Fournier Cervical Cancer Research Fund.

The Debi and Gary Fournier Cervical Cancer Research Fund has been designed to support ongoing cancer research efforts with an objective of discovering a cure for cervical cancer. More than 500,000 women around the world receive cervical cancer diagnoses every year, while more than 250,000 deaths are attributed to the disease on an annual basis. For women, cervical cancer represents one of the most common types of cancer, with most cases developing as a result of the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV), specifically HPV 16 and HPV 18.

Making regular OB/GYN visits is highly important for early detection and treatment, as medical professionals can use a PAP test to check for HPV and can sometimes detect abnormalities associated with cervical cancer early on in the development of the disease. Moving forward, doctors must determine exactly which form of cervical cancer an individual has in order to determine the best course of treatment.

Recent recipients researched subjects such as the role of neural stem cells in brain cancer. Successful projects may obtain long-term federal funding to develop improved cancer treatments.

Dedicated to numerous charitable pursuits, Gary Fournier also supports the work of Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

In order to best prepare its dogs for lifelong companionship, Guiding Eyes works with nearly 1,500 volunteers who help raise and socialize each animal. These individuals focus their work in one of several areas, including Early Training and Socialization. This program plays an essential role in the process of rearing guide dogs, enabling even the youngest of puppies to hone all the skills that they will need for their future work.

Early Socialization volunteers work with puppies for a minimum of two hours each week. During this time they help each dog build their confidence and bond with the humans around them. Puppies begin the Early Training and Socialization program in the “Pre-K” stage, which welcomes dogs between the ages of one and six weeks of age. This basic program enables volunteers to work with puppies on fundamental socialization skills.

Those who graduate from this stage then enter the “Kindergarten” program. During this stage, puppies up to the age of nine weeks have the opportunity to learn more advanced social skills through fun exercises and hands-on experiences with volunteers.
